Dutch Baughman
Dutch is a dedicated tyer and angler, passionate about sharing his expert skills through educating others and FFI leadership roles.
​
He offers fly tying and fishing classes on various topics and has been published multiple times in Flyfisher Magazine.
​
Dutch just completed 10 years of service to the FFI Board of Directors and is on the FFI TX Council Board of Directors, the TX Council Executive Committee, and
​
He is the recipient of multiple FFI Awards including the 2019 Fly Fisher of the Year award. Most recently, he received the 2023 Buz Buszek Memorial Fly Tying Award.

Deighan Cherry
Deighan is a competitive fly tyer, DIY fly angler, and the co-founder of Fly Girl Global.
​
She enjoys fishing in fresh and saltwaters, alongside her Dad and her dog, Ranger.
​
In 2020, She Co-Founded Fly Girl Global, an international group of young lady anglers who share a passion for all things fly fishing.
​
Deighan is a published writer and winner of the 2021 Alex Harris Leadership Award. This award is given to a person who goes above and beyond in their effort to attract women to fly fishing and conservation.

Jack Gillis
Jack's elite tying skills have earned him the nickname of Fly Tying Yoda amongst the community. He is highly decorated with FFI fly tying awards, including the Gold Achievement Award.

He is the former FFI Vice President of the TX Council.
​
And, he wrote the FFI Strategic Plan.
​
He is devoted to sharing his skills with others through the Roadkill Roundtable Fly Tying Group website, where he offers video tutorials, fly tying guides, techniques and more.

Specialty Fly: Soft Hackle Creek Damsel
Jeff Hoelter
Jeff bought his first fly tying vise from the Austin Angler in 1992. He has been creating flies for central Texas and the Hill Country ever since.

Jeff is on staff at Living Waters Fly Shop and Guide Service in Round Rock and enjoys doing whatever he can to help others enhance their fishing and tying experience.
​
He houses expert knowledge of the best fly fishing spots in Texas and knows how to select the perfect fly that will maximize the chance of a catch.
​
He helped design and develop the Llanolope with Jim Gray.
​

Specialty Fly: The Llanolope
Jim Gray
Jim has 40 years of experience as a fly fisherman and tyer. He is the former president of Austin Fly Fishers and the FFI TX Council.
He has fished all over the world but greatly enjoys his home state waters in the TX Hill Country, especially the Llano River.
Jim is a frequent speaker and guest tyer at many club events and fly shops, giving presentations on the Llano River, Colorado River, Florida Exotics, Float Tube Fishing, Hill Country White Bass and Fly Fishing for Carp.

Jim's fly tying focus is on creating and tying the most effective flies for Texas, both fresh and salt. He has created many patterns for the TX Hill Country. His creations include the Llano Leech, Llano Fox, Jim's Damsel, and the Llanolope (developed with Jeff Hoelter).
The Llanolope has earned multiple magazine publishing and is one of the most effective and popular Hill Country flies.

Specialty Fly: Davy's Floating Shad & Historical Irish Mayfly (100 year old fly and still catches fish!)
Mike Morphew
Mike is from England and he has been tying flies and fly fishing for salmon, trout and saltwater fish for 40 years.
​
He has a passion for teaching the art of dressing a hook and has spent hours at shows and clubs demonstrating skills from the simple woolly bugger to setting a dry fly wing for beginners and proficient tyers.
​
His specialty is tying ultrarealistic patterns which are typically for display.
A major highlight was being asked to tie and present Her Royal Highness Princess Anne a fully dressed Salmon fly display.
​
He was also awarded the Gold Certificate for the IFFF tying awards.
